A Little History
In the summer of 2004, a group of people recognized the necessity for parents of children with special needs to have a forum for
sharing information and supporting services for children with disabilities. The group also recognized the need to foster collaboration and to educate families and our community on the many aspects of accepting and caring for children with special needs. In the fall of 2004, Delaware’s first special needs PTA was formed.
Membership is open to all parents, guardians, grandparents, educators, therapists and anyone in any school district interested in the education of children with special needs.
